Junior Sailors Shine at CAC Annual Awards
Coomba Aquatic Club wrapped up a fantastic junior sailing season with an awards night recently, celebrating skill, growth, and community spirit.
The evening opened with reflections on the enthusiasm and resilience shown by our young sailors in all conditions. Their commitment set a positive tone for recognising two standout achievers.
Evie Sheppeard received the Outstanding Progress Award, honoured for her growing confidence, independence, and determination on the water. Dane, last year’s scholarship winner, proudly presented her trophy.
Lola Sheppeard was awarded the CAC Annual Junior Scholarship Award, recognising her strong boat‑handling skills, safe and confident sailing, and maturity beyond her years. Instructors praised her reliability, judgement, and willingness to help others. Dane again presented the award in a symbolic passing of the torch.
The night closed with warm thanks to our volunteers, instructors, and families — the backbone of junior sailing at CAC. Congratulations to Lola and Evie for inspiring their peers and representing the courage, curiosity, and community that make our club special.
