Sailing at Coomba Aquatic Club

Discover the Joy of Sailing at Coomba Aquatic Club:
Where community, confidence, and connection meet the water
At Coomba Aquatic Club, sailing isn’t just a sport — it’s a pathway to confidence, community, and a
lifelong love of the water. Our sailing programs are designed for all ages and abilities, from curious
first timers to seasoned sailors looking to refine their skills. Whether you’re seeking adventure,
learning, friendship, or simply a new way to enjoy Wallis Lake, you’ll find a welcoming place here.
  • Programs for Every Sailor
Learn to Sail — Beginners Welcome
Our beginner sessions introduce the fundamentals in a safe, supportive environment. With
structured, stepbystep instruction, new sailors build skills at their own pace while discovering the
thrill of harnessing the wind. Perfect for kids, teens, and adults who want to try something new.
  • Youth Sailing — Confidence on the Water
Young sailors thrive in our hands-on, encouraging program. They learn boat handling, teamwork,
and water safety while developing independence and resilience. Many of our youth sailors go on to
join community events, regattas, and leadership roles within the club.
  • Inclusive Sailing — Everyone Belongs on the Water
We’re proud to offer accessible sailing opportunities for people with disabilities and additional
needs. Our volunteer instructors and adaptive equipment ensure that every participant can
experience the joy and freedom of sailing. These sessions are among the most meaningful and
uplifting moments on our calendar.
  • School Sailing — Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our school partnerships bring students onto the lake for unforgettable learning experiences. Sailing
teaches problemsolving, communication, environmental awareness, and practical skills that stay
with students long after the session ends.
  • Open Days & Community Events
Throughout the year, we host open days, social sails, and community gatherings that bring Coomba
and the wider Mid North Coast together. These events are a chance to meet new people, enjoy the
lake, and celebrate the spirit of our community.
  • Why Sail with CAC?
  1. Supportive, volunteer instructors who prioritise safety and confidence
  2. A culture of inclusion where every sailor is valued
  3. A stunning natural environment that inspires connection with the lake and land
  4. Programs shaped by community needs, not competition or pressure
  5. A place to belong, grow, and contribute

Join Us on the Water.

Whether you’re taking your first step into sailing or returning after years away, Coomba Aquatic Club
is ready to welcome you aboard. Come experience the joy, freedom, and community that only sailing
can offer. Your adventure starts here. Your community is waiting.

We Need Your Help

Coomba Aquatic Club is powered by community spirit, and our sailing programs simply wouldn’t exist without volunteers. Every session — from beginners to inclusive sailing — relies on people willing to lend a hand on shore, help children rig boats, support instructors, welcome families, or keep an eye on safety around the ramp and wharf.
You don’t need sailing experience to make a difference. If you can offer your time, your encouragement, or just an extra pair of hands, you’re already the perfect volunteer. Your support helps us keep programs affordable, inclusive, and accessible for everyone in our community.
