Are you ready to set sail?
Kids and adults can learn to sail at no cost at Coomba Aquatic Club.
During the 2024-25 sailing season, the club will be teaching children aged 5-16 the fundamentals of sailing at FREE weekly Junior Learn-to-Sail classes (see dates and details below).
Experienced club coaches offer one-on-one tuition in a safe, shallow and sheltered corner of Wallis Lake’s western foreshore beside the club's wharf.Adults can also join the fun and learn to sail at no cost, sitting alongside their personal coach sailing on the lake at our monthly Aquatic Days (dates below).
All lessons take place under the watchful eyes of the safety boat crew.
The mornings wrap up with a free sausage sizzle lunch in the club's gazebo.
Everyone is welcome to join in the aquatic fun.

Observation rallies and picnics
- We arrange power boat rallies to explore the magnificent waters of Wallis Lake and its tributaries.
- This is a great way to take a scenic trip around the Lake and to enjoy some of the many picnic spots and rest areas that are only accessible by boat.
- Check the Club website for details of when the next event is scheduled to take place.
- Bookings essential and everyone is welcome
Recky Club Cruise
- Held between Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve – weather dependent
- Cruise by sailing boat, power boat, sail board or canoe for the energetic
- Leave the Club site in your own boat or come on a Club boat
- Accompanied by the Club safety boat
- Arrive in time for a relaxed lunch at the Recky Club at Pacific Palms
- Sail or cruise home
- Come by car if you prefer and join the boaters for the lunch
Great Lakes Sailability
- Held two days each month from September to April
- Using Hansa Class fibreglass and stable sailing dinghies designed for disabled people
- Accompanied by the Club safety boat
- Start at 10.00 and finish at 2.00
- This is a great way to feel the freedom of sailing with an experienced partner in beautiful waters
